We are a testament that this budgeting tool works. As graduates from the school of hard knocks, we view our hard-earned incomes and our lifestyles as a business venture. Having adopted the philosophy of “minding our own business”, we consider the costs and benefits of our choices. The Easy Budget will help you assure a positive “income – outcome”.

Robert Shaw spent the last 18+ years working for a leading aerospace engine manufacturer and is an acclaimed pioneer in integrated management systems auditing. His creative approach to applying innovation has led him from disadvantaged beginnings to financial independence and is captured in The Easy Budget. A dedicated life-long learner, he holds a number of post-secondary diplomas along with certificates in Masters in Project Management, Financial Management, Leading Innovation, and Leadership. He is a proud husband, father, artist and musician, and is passionate for success as a direct result of helping others through financial education and tools. Robert is also an accomplished speaker with a personal and sincere style that connects with his audience. “The Income Outcome – Minding Your Own Business” is available to students, special events, and employees of large and small businesses.

Samantha St. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a Major in Marketing and Business from Saint Mary’s University. She has worked for more than two decades in different facets of the hospitality industry, the municipal government and the Nova Scotia film and television industry.

Michael Cawthra started his career as a Journeyman Machinist 20+ years ago. He spent the last 17 years working in the aerospace industry achieving increasing levels in responsibilities for a leading engine manufacturer. Currently he is a Team Leader for continuous improvement and a Projects Leader with this aerospace company. He is directly involved with the introduction of new engine programs and products as well as he introduces new hi-tech manufacturing and tooling technology.

Michael is the proud father of 3 boys and was always very interested in spending money wisely and following a budgeting system.

Karen Cawthra, mother of three boys, left employment as a customer service representative and credit analyst with one of “the big three” in the automotive industry to raise her three small children. When the last child entered the school system she volunteered to work in a classroom. Two years later she accepted employment at the same elementary school providing care and educational assistance to children with special needs .
